Two stunning shows from the Boss in his home state just across the Hudson from New York. The second night is held up for hours due to a potential impending electrical storm and very heavy rain. It has to be said shows went ahead without delay in wetter conditions back in the UK, maybe it's a precaution for all those New Jersey housewives and their big hair. The show finally goes ahead at 10:30pm, but not before state troopers cart off a few who have somehow managed to get inebriated on lite beer.

Super strict camera rules mean I just have an iPhone to hand, but being up close makes up somewhat.

The last time in Chicago was a brief stop-over giving me only a day to look around, and most of that spent in the Art Institute of Chicago . This time I have several days including a day to head out to Oak Park and a feast of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture including his home and studio. My hotel on this visit is the Hard Rock Hotel housed in one of the finest art deco skyscrapers built. The view from my room ( above ) looks straight down North Michigan Avenue and across the river. Spectacular.
